Karenia brevis Bloom Animations

These animations use recent (1/30/26) FWC-FWRI HAB Monitoring data (Karenia brevis abundance in cells/L). Each animation shows the spatial evolution of Karenia brevis over a defined time interval. The time-series plot beneath each video shows log cell concentration over the same period; the shaded region corresponds to the animation interval. The time series use the same data after application of low-pass filters to reduce noise.

Use the video controls (top left corner):

  • Full screen (⛶) for detailed spatial inspection.
  • Picture-in-Picture to keep the animation visible while you scroll to the time series.

The video progress bar moves left-to-right through the same interval represented on the time axis, allowing direct comparison between spatial patterns and concentration peaks.
